A Simple Formula for Making $249,900 per Year
I’ve long been intrigued by the following idea:
Given the right audience, the right message, and the right medium, it’s possible to earn $249,900 per year.
By my standards, and most likely yours as well, earning $249, 900 each year is a fortune. Before you ask, I don’t make that much. Yes, I keep trying to get there but so far, I’m not even remotely close.
The best part is that you don’t have to settle on $249,900. You could adjust the formula in any number of ways to achieve similar results, higher or lower depending on the variables I listed above.
Whatever you can do or dream you can
Call me a dreamer, but I’m convinced there is a rock solid formula for earning a handsome living simply by being who you are and communicating what you know.
I proposed this idea once and was laughed at by those who heard it….and yet I know it’s not only possible, but it’s being done by people all over the world every day and it has nothing to with Iranian coins, Nigerian Princes, or Publisher’s Clearinghouse.
I am reminded of the quote from the Scottish mountaineer and writer, W.H. Murray, who wrote in his book, The Scottish Himalayan Expedition (1951):
“This may sound too simple, but is great in consequence. Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then [the universe] moves, too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.
I learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets:
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!”
Boldness has genius, power, and magic
So what is this magical formula? Let me be clear, while this is a bold undertaking, there isn’t any real hocus-pocus stuff happening. It’s simple mathematics, really. Even those with mathlexiacan follow this formula.
Here is the formula:
833p x 25d x 12m = $249,900
Clear as mud, right? OK, let’s go a bit deeper.
Let’s say that you possess a specific knowledge. For argument’s sake, let’s also assume that you packaged it in a way that 833 people begged and pleaded with you to share this knowledge and you said, “OK, I will for $25/month.” Over the course of twelve months you will have earned $249,900 for sharing this knowledge.
So, let’s review what we’ve stated thus far:
833 people pay you $25 per month to receive your specific knowledge and over a year’s time, they will have collectively paid you $249,900.
When it’s put like that, it seems a lot less magical, right? That’s because there isn’t any magic at all. It’s simple mathematics that anyone can figure out. The formula is surprisingly uncomplicated.
If you do the math, you’ll see that each person would pay you $300 over a year’s time. That’s a lot of cash to fork over, you say. Sure it is, but let’s put that into a context that might change your perception about it.
Examples of this formula already working in your life
Think about your credit card payment each month. Is your monthly payment on your AMEX, VISA, or Discover card near $25? Wait, what was that? It’s more than that? Wait, what was that? You have more than one credit card?
Well, now….you’re already paying someone $25 (or more) per month…but are you getting something back that could help you earn $249,900 next year? Most likely, you’re not.
I pay about $100 each month to my insurance company to cover my two motorcycles and my son’s Jeep Cherokee. I’m paying $1,200 per year to one insurance company. And I’m not getting anything in return.
How do you get this formula work?
How can we make the 833p x 25d x 12m = $249,900 formula work in our favor for a change?
To answer that question, you must now ask yourself the following question first – and come up with a great answer: What do I know that other people will pay me $25 per month to learn?
We'll tackle that in another article soon!
